Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the way people use and think about language. Its capacity to generate meaningful text in response to questions and instructions in an instant poses all kinds of challenges to English teachers. It also offers opportunities for learning, particularly about how language works – how it is formed, how it generates meaning, and how it can be interpreted. This course will focus on these opportunities, exploring how AI can help develop students understanding of various aspects of language (and literary) study, including:

  • Voice and tone
  • Genre
  • Originality and creativity
  • Choice
  • Interpretation.

This course will be recorded but attendees will not be audible or visible.
